Mathias Max Herrmann

Mathias Max Herrmann was born in Mühlheim an der Ruhr in 1966. Engagements at the state theaters of Essen, Düsseldorf, Tübingen, Klagenfurt, Frankfurt/Oder und Magdeburg. At the same time he was developing his own projects with artists and scientist in widely different fields, in particular with the Gerd Schneider Gesellschaft, which he founded. He has performed in melodramas such as Arnold Schönberg’s Pierrot Lunaire at the Staatsbank-Berlin (2003), Arnulf Herrmann’s Panorama at the Donaueschinger Musiktage (2003), Karlheinz Stockhausen’s Am Himmel wandre ich as part of the Klangraum-Festival in Cologne (2002), and Thomas Becker’s August Stramm trifft Arnold Schönberg in Rom (1992). He received a scolarship from the Käthe-Dorsch-Stiftung and was nominated for best young actor in the yearbook for Theater Heute in 2000. Solo CD with Heiner Müller’s Titus Andronicus, nominated for the hr-Hörbuch-Bestenliste and for the Erster Deutscher Hörbuchpreis in 2003. Since 2004 he has been a regular member of the ensemble of the Schauspiel Frankfurt. In 2004 he participated in Voyeur at the Forum Neues Musiktheater.
