Jorge Silva Melo is an actor, director, and writer. He is also cofounder and director from 1973 to 1977 of the Teatro da Cornucópia in Lisbon. Melo directed several films, including two documentary films, and performed in films by Manoel de Oliveira and Christine Laurent, among others. Since 1996 he has directed the Compagnie Artistas Unidos, Lisbon. In 2003 he participated in Im Spiegel wohnen at the Forum Neues Musiktheater.
