Frieder Weiß was active for many years as a freelance engineer in computer technology for various companies in Nuremberg (Siemens, among others). He works with modern computer and digital editing programs in automation technologies for industry and produces special electronic devices for music. As a musician he was active for theatrical groups such as Thevomefüme, die American Drama Group Europe, and the Nürnberger Jazz Art Ensemble. As an expert for interactive systems he is currently developing technologies to employ real-time digital systems in artistic applications. He has cooperated with various artists, including Reiner Hofmann in Nuremberg, Prof. Wilfried Jentzsch in Dresden, and phase7 in Berlin, and he teaches interactive and media technology at the Fachhochschule Nürnberg, at the Fachhochschule Bern, and the University Centre in Doncaster. In 2004 he participated in Delusions and in 2005 in Talking Bodies at the Forum Neues Musiktheater.
