  Françoise Rivalland
Director

Françoise Rivalland studied with Gérard Hiéronimus, Francis Branna, Gaston Sylvestre und Jean-Pierre Drouet, among others. She performs contemporary music and plays with small orchestras, chamber ensembles, and as a soloist. She works with many compositions to interpret and perform their works, as well as with various ensembles and at international festivals for contemporary music. Rivalland plays cimbalom and zarb, among other instruments, and is active in improvisation. Here interests in dramaturgy, the relationship between text, music, and gesture and theatrical performance led to works as a stage director and performer in the theater and dance worlds. Since 1987 she was worked as musical assistant, assistant conductor, and performer in musical works by Georges Aperghis. In 1986 she was one of the founding members of s:i.c. (situation: interpretes et compositeurs), which emphasizes intense interpretive work and new creations in chamber music. 2005 Die Süße unsere traurigen Kindheit at Forum Neues Musiktheater.
