  Florian Hoelscher
Pianist

Florian Hoelscher studied with Robert Levin, Michel Béroff, and Pierre-Laurent Aimard in Freiburg im Breisgau, Paris, and Cologne. He also received decisive encouragement from Peter Eötvös. Following early success in competitions, he developed extensive concert activity in Europe and the United States. He performs regularly in solo recitals at the most important festivals for contemporary music and in such venues as the Alte Oper Frankfurt, the Théâtre du Châtelet in Paris, the Tonhalle Zürich, and the Maison de Radio France in Paris. Recently he was a guest of the Salzburg Festival for the first time. As a soloist he has worked with conductors such as Peter Eötvös, Christopher Hogwood, Lothar Zagrosek, Mark Foster, Stefan Asbury, and Joseph Swensen. Florian Hoelscher is a member of the ensemble ascolta in Stuttgart and a frequent guest of the Ensemble Modern and the Ensemble Musikfabrik, among others. He recently released a CD with Marco Stroppa’s miniature estrose (Stradivarius). His repertoire includes works for piano and harpsichord from four centuries. In 2005 he performed with the ensemble ascolta in Hans Tutschku’s Die Süße unserer traurigen Kindheit and in 2006 in Hans Thomalla’s fremd at the Forum Neues Musiktheater.
