Zoltán Kovács
Clarinetist
Zoltán Kovács, born in Pásztó, Hundary in 1977, was educated at the Béla Bartók and Franz Liszt in Budapest music academies in Budapest at the Musikhochschule Freiburg under Prof. Dieter Klöcker. From 2001 to 2003 he was in the soloist class of Prof. Jörg Widmann. He has received prizes in numerous international competitions, including a first prize in the Concertino Praha (1996), the Förderpreis of the Kulturkreis der Deutschen Wirtschaft. Since 2001 he has been a scholarship recipient of the Deutsche Kultur-Stiftung Villa Musica. He is active throughout Germany as a chamber musician. Since 2002 he has collaborated regularly with the Ensemble Consortium Classicum and the Münchener Kammerorchester. Various radio and television productions. In 2002 he recorded a CD for ARTS, Clarinet XXth Century. In 2005 he was a guest musician with the ensemble ascolta in Die Süße unserer traurigen Kindheit at the Forum Neues Musiktheater.
