  Hèctor Parra
Composer

Born in Barcelona in 1976. Studied music at the Barcelona Conservatory, where he received honors in composition, piano, and harmony. He also participated in numerous international composition courses. His works have been performed by the Ensemble Intercontemporain, ensemble recherche, the Arditti String Quartet, Les Jeunes Solistes, the Duo Nataraya, the Utopia Ensemble, Adrienne Czengery, Imma Santacreu, Iván Solano, Dominique Vidal, and Valérie Philippin at international festivals (Royaumont, Festival d’Avignon, Résonances-IRCAM, Takefu Festival-Japan, Sarvar, Elektronische Nacht Stuttgart, Ecole Normale Supérieure de Paris, CDMC-Madrid, Encontre Internacional de Mallorca 2004, Tremplin-Centre Pompidou, SIMC). In December 2002 Parra received the INAEM composition prize (INAEM is the Spanish National Institute of the Performing Arts and Music) at the Collège d’Espagne. In January 2005, Atelier Strette at Forum Neues Musiktheater.
