Sven Sören Beyer
Stage Director, Media Artist
Trained in dance at the Palucca School in Dresden. Has lived in Berlin since 1990. Completed his degree in choreography at the Hochschule für Schauspielkunst Ernst Busch in Berlin. Had his first taste of work as a professional choreographer (Schnäppchen) at the Komische Oper Berlin (1992). Has worked on numerous projects with various dance companies and theaters throughout Germany, including the Nürnberger Oper, the Saarländisches Staatstheater in Saarbrücken, the Nationaltheater in Weimar, the Deutsche Oper in Berlin (Variation über Spiegeleier), and the Mecklenburgisches Staatstheater in Schwerin. Has worked in other theatrical disciplines and has developed choreographies for plays, operas, and musicals. Has directed many works of spoken and musical theater. In November 1997 Das Rauschen der blauen Tür (The Rustling of the Blue Door) with the Tanzstiftung Birgit Keil. Additional performances at the Wilhelma Theater in Stuttgart and the Tiergartentunnel in Berlin. Founded phase 7 in 1997 (artistic director). His directing credits include the play Einmal Casanova sein (To Be Casanova for Once) by Tukur/Waller at the Badische Landesbühne (December 1999). Since September 1999 he has taught at the Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Künste in Stuttgart. He combines traditional theater techniques with modern media. Sven Sören Beyer is a member of the artists company phase 7, and in 2004 he directed the piece Delusions at the Forum Neues Musiktheater, which has been performed again at the FNM in 2005.
