Percussionist

Studied percussion with Siegfried Fink in Würzburg and Klaus Tresselt in Stuttgart. Further studies in Indonesia and Cuba. Specialist in contemporary chamber music. Countless premieres. Has collaborated with such composers as Berio, Boulez, Crumb, Eötvös, Kurtag, Penderecki, Rihm, and Stockhausen. Radio performances on virtually all German radio stations. Founder of the duo jazz-minimal-avantgarde and the ensemble piano & percussion. Leader of the Percussion Ensemble Mainz. CD productions with all these ensembles. Concert tours with the RSO Stuttgart, the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie, Ensemble Modern, and others in Europe, the United States, the CIS, and the Far East. Involved in the construction of musical instruments. Compositions published by the Zimmermann Verlag in Frankfurt. Collaboration with video designers and choreographers on various multimedia projects. In 1996–97 was acting solo timpanist for the Stuttgart Philharmonic. Instructor at the Peter Cornelius Konservatorium in Mainz. Markus Hauke is a member of the artists company phase 7. In autumn 2004 and spring 2005, two series of performances of Delusions at the Forum Neues Musiktheater.
