Studied with Bernhard Wulff at the Musikhochschule in Freiburg and with Gaston Sylvestre in Paris. He has won prizes in many competitions and been awarded grants by the Studienstiftung des deutschen Volkes and the Akademie Schloss Solitude in Stuttgart. Makes up the Trio accanto together with Marcus Weiss and Yukiko Sugaeara. Intensive study of non-European music. Numerous solo concerts throughout Europe in the series Rising Stars. Has written compositions for radio play and theater. Numerous radio and CD recordings. Leader of the percussion class at the Musikhochschule in Basel. Member of ensemble recherche since 1988.
