Studied oboe with Hans Elhorst, Thomas Indermühle, and Heinz Holliger. He has received many prizes at competitions such as Asti (Italy), Bayreuth, and Mannheim, as well as the Förderpreis der Freiburger Museums-Gesellschaft and the Musikpreis der Commerzbank-Stiftung. He has performed under Peter Gülke (in Denisov’s Oboe Concerto) and with Yo-Yo Ma as Ma’s chamber music partner on the Silk Road Project. He has also taught with Thomas Indermühle as a lecturer at the international oboe course in Xávea, Spain. Member of ensemble recherche since 2000. Played in Salvatore Sciarrino’s piece Infinito nero in April 2004.
