Eva Reiter
Flutist
Eva Reiter, born in 1976 in Vienna, studied recorder from 1997 to 2001 with Rahel Stoellger and viola da gamba with Johanna Valencia at the Universität für Musik in Vienna. In May 2001 she completed her degree with honors. From 2001 to 2006 she continued her studies of recorder with Paul Leenhouts und Walter van Hauwe and of gamba with Mieneke van der Velden at the Sweelinck Conservatory in Amsterdam, receiving a master’s degree with honors. Currently Eva Reiter is active as both a soloist and as a member of various ensembles. In August 2004, with the Ensemble Mikado (Vienna), she received first prize in the International Young Artist’s Presentation competition. This was followed by the CD production The Dark Is My Delight. Since 1996 her work has focused on contemporary music. Currently she is working with Elastic3 and Breitband (Eva Reiter/Ludwig Bekic) and continuing to work on solo projects. Eva Reiter is active not only as a performer but also as a composer. She has appeared at festivals in Austria and abroad, including steirischer herbst Graz, the Grabenfesttage Wien, Tage Alter Musik Berlin, Wandelweiser, Cadenze Den Haag, Wien Modern, and generator/Wiener Konzerthaus—as well as with De Nederlandse Bachvereeniging and Elastic3. In April of this year Eva Reiter received the SKE Publicity Preis for 2006. She participated in a concert of Elastic3 on the occasion of the ISCM World New Music Festival 2006 at the Forum Neues Musiktheater.
