Studied with A. Balogh and U. Koch at the Musikhochschule in Freiburg, at the Accademia Chigiana in Siena, and—as a DAAD grant recipient—with D. Takeno in London in 1985–1986. Received the Kranichsteiner Musikpreis in 1986. Has worked with many contemporary music ensembles in Germany and abroad. Since 1998 he has been a lecturer at the Darmstädter Ferienkurse für Neue Musik. Member of ensemble recherche since 1989 which is the ensemble of the project Infinito Nero by Salvatore Sciarrino at Forum Neues Musiktheater in 2004.
