Dario Calderone studied double-bass at the conservatory in Rome, at the Stauffer Academy in Cremona, and with the Klangforum Wien. In 2002 he won first prize in the Benzi Double Bass Competition. Since 2001 he has performed in a variety of chamber music ensembles with which he gave concerts worldwide. He has played in diverse orchestras, including the Orchestra del Teatro Massimo di Palermo, and the orchestra of the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma, and is a member of Laboratorium, an ensemble for new music. He participated in Il cielo sulla terra at the Forum Neues Musiktheater in 2006.
