Gianluca Gentili studied guitar with, among others, Jaime Burgos in Seville and in 1986 transferred to the Conservatorio di Musica G. B. Pergolesi in Fermo. He has won a variety of competitions, including the Premio Abbiati Preis in 2004. Gentili worked with the poet Edoardo Sanguineti and wrote music for a variety of theater projects. His most recent composition, based on The Bacchae of Euripides, will be heard at in summer 2006 at the Terra di Teatri Festival in Macerata. He participated in Il cielo sulla terra at the Forum Neues Musiktheater in 2006.
