  Boris Müller
Percussionist

Boris Müller, born in Haslach in the Black Forest in 1963, he completed his studies in percussion in 1991 at the Musikhochschule Trossingen with Hermann Gschwendtner and Franz Lang. Since 1990 is active as a freelance artist, with an emphasis on contemporary music. He has frequently collaborated with leading ensembles of new music (the Ensemble Modern in Frankfurt, Klangforum Wien, Klangforum Heidelberg, and so on). He was a founding member of Ensemble ascolta in Stuttgart. Since 2001 he has been a member of the Schlagquartett Köln. He developed wooded percussion instruments Helmut Lachenmann’s opera Das Mädchen mit den Schwefelhölzern. Since then he has also been active as an instrument builder. As a composer he was represented at the Festival Eclat in Stuttgart in 2005 with the premiere of his First Percussion Quartet, in which many of the instruments he has developed were employed. 2006 in fremd at Forum Neues Musiktheater.
