Hans-Georg Lenhart

Hans-Georg Lenhart studied at the Folkwang Tanzschule Essen under the direction of Pina Bausch. His teachers were, among others, Malou Airaudo, Jean Cebron, and Christine Kono. He gave his professional debut in Pina Bausch's Frühlingsopfer with the Wuppertaler Tanztheater and was subsequently a guest of the Monnaie Dance Group/Mark Morris in Brussels. He has collaborated with Carlos Orta, Joachim Schlömer, ERIM Weimar, and Stephan Brinkmann, among others. He has collaborated for many years with the American stage director Peter Sellars: The Death of Klinghoffer in 1991 at La Monnaie, Biblical Pieces in 1999 in the Holland Festival, Idomeneo in 2003, GFO, GTO. Besides own pieces he did the choreography on The Pirates of Penzance at the Wiener Volksoper of Matthias Schönfeldt among others. In 2005 he participated in Die Süße unserer traurigen Kindheit at the Forum Neues Musiktheater. |
