Forum Neues Musiktheater of Stuttgart Opera will again present New York City based digital dance theater company Troika Ranch as they teach their Live-Interactive (Live-I) Workshop, an intensive seminar for artists who wish to explore the use of interactive computer technology in the creation and performance of dance, theater, installation, and related live artworks. The three day version of the workshop given at Forum Neues Musiktheater in Stuttgart will serve as an intensive introduction to Isadora®, the reknowned real-time media manipulation software created by Coniglio. Partcipants will begin by learning to use Isadora as a tool for real-time manipulation of digital video and sound. They will then be shown how to use a variety of sensory devices with Isadora, so that the gestures or vocalizations may be used to interactively control video, sound, and other computer controllable media. This work will be complimented by aesthetic experiments and critical discussions that provide new perspectives on how the integration of media and technology affects the shape and content of a work. Participants in the workshop will receive a three month license for Isadora, so they may continue their experiments once the workshop has concluded. The lessons will be held in the English language. Requirements: A basic knowledge of computers. An understanding of how to capture and edit digital video is very helpful. Please let us know, if you`ll bring your own laptop and/or video camera.
