Applications and Project Announcements

  You May Apply
At the Forum, you may apply to participate in a preexisting project or to realize a project of your own. Grants are awarded for both purposes.

I. Apply to Join a Project Already Planned at the Forum
The Forum invites applications from those with degrees in any one of the many fields directly or indirectly connected with music theater. This includes musicology, philology, media technology, and computer science in addition to the more obvious fields of composition, singing, acting, instrumental music, stage design, directing, and dramatics as well as graduates of art academies, opera courses, and master classes. The prerequisite is a desire for practical engagement with the tools of the new music theater. Applicants must participate actively in the realization of the project, which normally means they must be present throughout all phases of the work.
Your application should include a description of your field of specialization
as well as a discussion of why you are interested in working at the Forum and in the particular project you have selected. Please send us an overview of your career history as an artist and, if possible, material on the projects you have worked on thus far.

II. Apply to Realize a Project of Your Own
2005/2006 will be the last season of the Forum Neues Musikthaeter – at least in its existing form. The final season is already fully plannes out and many of the project teams are already hard at work. As a result, we cannot take on any more new projects.
We cannot give any promises about the possibility of staging your production, however, we would nevertheless be interested in your material.
As a composer or director, you may apply to the Forum Neues Musiktheater with a project you would like to realize. To do so, tell us about your idea and share your suggestions for how it should be realized and the composition and building of the project team.
Please submit a detailed description of your project, including (printed) musical material.
Introduce yourself and your team; describe your career history as an artist, and provide us with material on the projects you have worked on thus far. A timetable for the project you are proposing and a cost estimate for the performers and the stage environment are also required. Of course, the project does not have to be planned out in every detail, but we do expect a high degree of independent initiative and independent responsibility.
