It's not analog but it's kinda like a Mellotron... I've got a synthesizer and it's the Casio CZ-1. It's not bad for playing KW parts, because there are some really antique sounds in there. I think it was one of the first digital synthesizers but it kept that old analog feel to it.... that is, it's really heavy! I don't find the sounds in it too inspiring... except for the fact that I can play around with almost every parameter like wave-type, envelope, etcetera. But there are absolutely no reverb effects, which sucks, and it doesn't sound much better than a soundblaster. Anyone else have this synth and can tell me more about it? I don't know much about it....so any info would be helpful! > I guess we could make a list of our bands and projects, it looks like > many of us are into producing electronic music... What you think? I've got a band and I'm doing independent stuff as well. You can download WAV samples of my independent stuff, which is electronic industrial and ambient influenced, at my home page (add this to your links if you wish, but let me know): http://mir.med.utoronto.ca/braun As for the band I'm in... it's just a couple of friends with me playing 80's covers. I wish I could convince them to play only industrial/electro music, but we decided that before we tried any tracks like those that we'd first learn to play at least about 20 of popular 80's hits. Maybe afterwards we'll venture into the more difficult-to-play area of Kraftwerk Covers! By the way, does anyone have NOTES for any KRAFTWERK music? I'd sure like to see some chord-notations and TAB files! I was so happy when he told me about the other band, "Devo", that I went over to the local college radio station where I'm a DJ and went through their entire collection of Devo. Now, is it just me, or does Devo not sound anything like KW? The first Devo album is basically punk rock, not electronic, and even the later Devo stuff may only slightly remind us of KW because they use electronic drums and some other electronic synthesizers. Other than that, I can find no similarity. Does anyone else see a similarity? I don't. I think that's the aspect of analogue synths that people prefer over digital ones. > > I guess we could make a list of our bands and projects, it looks like > > many of us are into producing electronic music... What you think? My recording are strictly experimental (read: unlistenable)! I do have thumbnail sketches of a few songs. TEE I have played note for note. I used to know The Model. If there is a demand for KW sheet music, maybe I should work some out. I know that I posted a note regarding the recent Capitol re-issues of KW's "Radio-Activity", "Trans-Europe Express", and "The Man-Machine", but here is another note regarding the same re-issues. Aside from the slightly altered covers, are there any differences between the tracks on these discs and those on the Cleopatra issues? This may include the lengths of the tracks or even just the sound quality itself. Any differences? I am still tempted to pick these re-issues up. Also, are these re-issues the exact duplicates of the 3 CDs present in the KW Boxed Set "The Capitol Years", just minus the booklet? Thanks for your time. Robotically Yours, Scott M.
