Really-From: MARTIN OLSSON AF NJURUNDA Oups, this is odd... I'm responding to my own post. Well, sorry for that post in an unintelligible language (it was Swedish). I accidentally replied to the list instead of the person. Basically I said I took about 15-20 pictures at the concert (managed to smuggle my camera in - still proud of that) which came out rather not too good (weeny camera and 75 feet (25m) to the stage). Also I commented that it sounds as if "Autobahn" (or was it "TEE") has been edited to be shorter. I recall from the concert that these two songs were VERY long. I mean V E R Y long. Also said that a bunch of people including myself rushed up to the stage when the lights came on (after the concert) because there, in the mittle of the stage stood the four consoles. UNCOVERED! No drapes or nothing was covering the stage, so we ran up there (to the stage, not on the stage) and stood and starred. Than, of course, the security guards decided that this was not good. There was nothing to see... EXCUSE ME!!! Nothing to see??? Well, anyway, away we were pushed (sob). Also mentioned that there was a Swedish popstar (Orup) at the concert, which struck me somewhat funny at the time. That's it. Sorry for doing that in Swedish... BTW, I'm writing from the heart of hillbilly-land (Clarksville, Tennessee) and there is something weird going on here. As far as I know, I'm the only one who's even heard of Kraftwerk before. Much less, actually know anything about them. What's weird, is that someone keeps buying all the KW CD's at one of the local record stores. Since January, 2 copies of Autobahn have been sold, Computer World has gone once, Radio Activity once, and both copies of "The Model" compilation (the one on Cleopatra) were sold within days of the release. Just figured I let you all know that... That's all. I hope that this message will actually be received by the list, since of all the mailing lists I subscribe to, this was the only one whose 'welcome to' message didn't tell me which one is the actual address one has to use to post messages...or am I blind? Anyway, the specific question I want to bring up has to do with Ralf Huetter's address. Back in the late seventies, when I was still in Italy, I asked my father (who was and still is living in Germany) to try and track down Kraftwerk's address. After months he actually managed to get Ralf's address and I kept it like a jewel in one of my address books at that time. However, since I couldn't speak any German, I never dreamt to dial the telephone number. In 85, then, I myself moved to Germany and one day decided to try the telephone number. You can imagine the fear that someone could actually pick up the phone...Instead I got an answer saying that the number wasn't valid anymore. Of course it could have been that in the meantime an additional digit had been added, so I don't really know now. However, I wanted to know if anybody else had ever managed to find out any addresses... Unfortunately I don't have that address book here (now I live in Ireland) but I know for sure that the street was Viergaertenstrasse in Krefeld (possibly number 47, but I'm not sure). For some reason I never tried to actually send a letter to the postal address :-( Paolo ========================================================================== Paolo G. Cordone Ailesbury Road. Cordone) I remember when TEE came out that there was the rumour that the line "Meet Iggy Pop and David Bowie" in the title track was as a sort of exchange with Bowie's "V2 Schneider" included in Heroes (which came out in the same year). Has this already been discussed on thie list? Also, I am wondering why there has never the need to create a Krafterk newsgroup. That would be really great. Really-From: NLavely@aol.com Well, I suppose it had to happen, but I a was flipping around on the old tube and I came upon MTV News, which promised a look back at 80's "synth-pop" So I watched it & the piece was about 2.5 min long and they showed Kraftwerk for about 10 seconds of it. They didn't mention who they were but they played 5 seconds of "The Model's" solo. That's not all, tho. They are having a 1hr special on Thur. at 9pm central. About 80's synth pop, so they might show more Kraftwerk. We're safe, for now! Nick ------------------------------ End of kraftwerk-digest V2 #319 *******************************
